Efficiency Evaluation

Services ecoPlus is a service provider certified for EnerGuide rating by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).

EnerGuide Rating System

An EnerGuide rating is a number, from 0 to 100, that indicates the energy efficiency level of a home. The rating system was developed by the Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE). It compares the energy efficiency of a particular home to that of similar homes in the same area.

Following is a table with some examples of EnerGuide ratings for different types of homes. Once you get your EnerGuide rating, you will be able to see where your own home energy efficiency stands.

Understanding EnerGuide Rating

EnerGuide Rating

Type of Home

0 to 50 Older home, no renovation
51 to 65

Older home, renovated

66 to 74 Older home, renovated in an energy efficient manner, or new standard home
75 to 79 Energy efficient new home
80 to 90 Highly energy efficient new home
91 to 100 Home with very little or no need for energy purchasing

The EnerGuide rating for your home is stated on the evaluation report and on a label that should be affixed to the electrical panel.

Are you selling your home? Don’t forget to mention its EnerGuide rating in the description!

  • You will know the present energy efficiency rating of your home and a comparative value for similar homes in your area, as well as the rating you could expect after renovations are completed.
  • You will receive a label showing the rating that you should affix to the electrical panel.
