At ecoPlus Services
Services ecoPlus is a team of Building Systems Analysts specializing in energy efficiency, indoor air quality, asbestos management, and technical building diagnostics. Our mission is to contribute to a more high-performing, healthy, and durable building stock, while providing a stimulating, innovative, and excellence-driven work environment.

What does the work of a consultant at Services ecoPlus actually look like?
Here’s what a typical week looks like… keeping in mind that no two weeks are ever the same!

Monday – Prepare, understand, take action
The week usually begins with document preparation: reviewing emails, upcoming assignments, and analyzing plans, building histories, or previous reports. Discussions with clients help clarify the issues at stake and adjust priorities.
In the afternoon, the consultant travels to a site with a confirmed mold contamination following a water infiltration in a basement. The consultant enters an environment where contamination is present: appropriate protective equipment is put in place, sometimes intrusive investigations are carried out, samples are collected, the situation is documented with photos, and direct discussions are held with the client. On site, the consultant must observe carefully, ask the right questions, and begin forming technical hypotheses.
Before the end of the day, the samples are prepared and sent to the laboratory.
Tuesday – Analyze and support
Tuesday morning is dedicated to structuring the information collected the day before: field notes, initial analyses, and preparing the draft of the mold investigation report, while waiting for laboratory results that will arrive later the following week.
In the afternoon, the context shifts with a visit to a construction site to perform an air infiltration test on a building under construction. The consultant works directly with the general contractor and insulation subcontractors. Using blower door testing, smoke, and imaging tools, the consultant identifies air leaks and thermal bridges, explains the findings on site, and proposes practical, actionable corrective measures.

Wednesday – Rigor and synthesis
The day is largely dedicated to writing technical reports. This is a key part of the role: structuring information, interpreting data, and formulating clear, coherent recommendations that comply with applicable standards. The quality of deliverables is essential—reports must be easy for clients to understand while remaining technically sound.
Thursday – Teamwork and inventory
Thursday morning takes place in the field, often working as a team with another technologist, to carry out a reserve fund study in a condominium building. The objective is to inventory building components, assess their level of deterioration, document observations using digital tools, and structure the information that will support long-term planning.
In the afternoon, it’s back to the office to organize the data, consolidate notes, and prepare for the report writing phase.

Friday – Finalize and connect
The day is dedicated to finalizing reports, following up with clients, and holding internal discussions. It’s also a time to validate certain analyses with colleagues, refine recommendations, and close out assignments before the following week.
What it takes to thrive in this role
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys:
analyzing complex and sometimes ambiguous situations;
investigating, observing, and understanding the true root causes of problems;
working independently while relying on a strong, collaborative team;
delivering rigorous work within realistic yet demanding timelines;
alternating between fieldwork, technical analysis, and report writing.
At Services ecoPlus, the pace is varied, demanding, yet balanced, and the quality of analysis always takes precedence over sheer speed of execution. This is a role for those who want to truly understand buildings in depth—and make a real difference in how they are assessed, corrected, and improved.
